Samuel Woodman (b. 2003) is an emerging artist based in Melbourne, Australia. From a young age he has been fascinated with diagrams. Due to this, his practice is a form of contemplative rendering, trying to realise and picture immaterial systems. He works in diagrams, visualising a system of embedded meaning within each work. Taking inspiration from diverse sources: scientific notation, religious symbols and philosophical concepts are distilled and recombined into paintings of an inner world. Each made an effort to understand how we process thought.
